According to a recent report by a well-known industry insider Daniel Richtmann (above world of role), the working title for The Rock’s new Fast & Furious film is Untitled Luke Hobbs and Dante Reyes. This comes after Dwayne Johnson confirmed earlier this month that he would be starring in a standalone film opposite Momoa.
In a post-credits scene for Fast X, Johnson’s Hobbs can be seen breaking into a derelict church built by Momoas Reyes. After noticing a ringing phone, Reyes – who has spent the entire film chasing Dominic Toretto over his father’s death – threatens Hobbs and tells him he’s Reyes’ next target and tells Hobbs that Toretto may have a role in his father’s death (which took place in Fast Five) but that Hobbs was the one who actually killed him.

The star also opened up about why he decided to return to the franchise, citing the explosive fan reaction to the Fast X post-credits scene, which starred Johnson’s return as Luke Hobbs. The Hollywood Reporter says the film is neither a full sequel nor a spin-off, but more of a “Fast X.5”.
The new film will be written and directed by Chris Morgan and produced by Johnson and his partners at Seven Bucks Productions, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. It is also produced by series stars Vin Diesel and Samantha Vincent through their company One Race, Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films and Neal Moritz for Original Film.
