Wonka is an upcoming musical fantasy film about young Willy Wonka and his adventures leading up to the opening of the world’s most famous chocolate factory. Timothée Chalamet will portray the famous chocolatier in a film directed by Paul King, who previously directed the two Paddington films.
Journalist Emily Zemler visited a launch event for the Wonka movie trailer attended by the director. King said he wanted to make something that could stand alongside the Roald Dahl book the character was taken from. Wonka is also said to be a companion to the 1971 film.

The Wonka film is slated to hit theaters on December 15, 2023 at Warner Bros. Pictures.
