Emilia Clarke’s G’iah is a main character in the Marvel Disney+ series Secret invasion. While we’ve technically seen her before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let’s explore who this character is and why she’s attending the titular event.
Who is G’iah?
G’iah is a young Skrull, the daughter of Talos and Soren. As a young child, she appeared in 2019’s Captain Marvel, played by Auden L. Ophuls and Harriet L. Ophuls. She was present when Captain Marvel and her allies fought Yon-Rogg and his forces in Mar-Vell’s laboratory, and then befriended young Monica Rambeau, who would later become Photon in WandaVision and The Marvels.
In Secret Invasion, G’iah is now an adult. She is considered a radical Skrull agent. When talking to Vanity FairClarke said the character exudes “a kind of punk feel” and that she’s frustrated that “not much has happened” since Fury promised to help the Skrulls years ago.
In the first episode, G’iah was introduced as part of the antagonist Gravik’s Skrull group. Despite her dedication to his cause, the news of her mother Soren’s death at the hands of Talos seems to have shaken her faith.
