FX has announced the first official What we do in the shadows Season 5 Poster.
The poster for Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s supernatural comedy announces the return of Matt Berry’s Laszlo and Harvey Guillén as Guillermo. The next installment in the mockumentary series is scheduled to air on July 13.
It’s been nearly a year since its fifth season premiered since What We Do in the Shadows wrapped up its fourth ten-episode season. The season ended with Guillermo giving up his life as an underrated confidant and asking Derek to turn him into a vampire.
What can you expect from season 5 of What We Do in the Shadows?
“In Season 5, Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he appears to be spending far more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he attempts to unravel the mystery of the stranger to solve and very secret changes that Guillermo is going through,” reads the summary. “Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously undiagnosed supernatural curse, reconnects with her family – or at least a family – from the Old Land. Colin is following in the footsteps of so many energy vampires before him in running for political office and The Guide is trying to figure out where she fits in as a relative newcomer to this tight-knit group that has known each other for centuries.”
Based on Waititi’s 2014 vampire mockumentary, What We Do in the Shadows follows three ancient vampires. The bloodsuckers live on Staten Island with their trusty familiar, Guillermo. The series stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, Mark Proksch and Kristen Schaal.
The series was written and produced by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. The executive producers are Clement, Waititi, Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush. It is produced by FX Productions.
