The Uzumaki manga series consists of three volumes, first published in 1998. It tells the story of high school student Kirie Goshima, who lives in the cursed city of Kurôzu-cho, described as a small, misty town on the coast of Japan.
The four-part anime series will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama (“Flowers of Evil”), and the music will be composed by Hereditary’s Colin Stetson. The series is also produced by Drive.
“Uzumaki follows Kirie Goshima, a high school girl who lives in a Japanese coastal town called Kurouzu-cho,” reads the manga’s synopsis. “Kirie and her friend Shuichi Saito discover that Kurouzu-cho is cursed by the spiral shape.
