Treat Williamswho starred in Everwood and 127 Hours died in a motorcycle accident in Dorset, Vermont, at the age of 71.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. ET and involved Williams’ motorcycle and a single car. The driver of the single car did not see Williams. Williams was the only person injured in the accident. A helicopter arrived to transport him to the hospital.
Williams’ family released a statement meetingHe said, “Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and really was his best at everything.” … To all his fans, know that Treat appreciated you all, and keep it please keep him in your hearts and prayers.”
He played the lead actor Dr. Andy Brown in The WB’s “Everwood,” a drama television series that helped launch the careers of Chris Pratt, Gregory Smith and Emily VanCamp. In 1979, Williams appeared as George Berger in Miloš Forman’s Hair and as Corporal Chuck “Stretch” Sitarski in Steven Spielberg’s 1941.
Treat Williams is survived by his wife, actress Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gille and Ellie.
