Tom Hiddleston helps UNICEF raise £15million

In a recent clip posted to Twitter, Hiddleston stood in the middle of Old Trafford – the football stadium in Greater Manchester, England, and home of Manchester United. The actor then passionately appealed to viewers at home for donations.

“By making a donation tonight, you can take your kindness around the world and make a difference in the life of a child, somewhere,” Hiddleston said. “Every day children live in the most difficult situations and every day UNICEF helps. Anywhere in the world, in any situation.”

At the end of the charity event, UNICEF had announced it had raised a whopping £15million. This will help fight malnutrition, protect children in times of crisis and give them access to basic needs.

At the annual Soccer Aid charity event, a host of celebrities and ex-soccer players take part in a friendly match. Usually teams are made up of English players and then a Soccer Aid World XI team made up of a bunch of other players. That year, the World XI team won its fifth straight game.
