The Daily Mail reported on May 24 that Turner died peacefully at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, after a “long illness.”
“With her, the world loses a music legend and role model,” the statement said.
Considered the “Queen of Rock and Roll,” Turner once held the Guinness World Record for largest paying audience by a solo artist. Turner’s legendary hits include “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, “We Don’t Need Another Hero”, “Private Dancer” and “The Best”. She has also acted in several films, including memorable roles in Mad Max and Last Action Hero.
Turner is survived by her husband Erwin Bach and two children.
