The Righteous Gemstones season 3 trailer features children struggling to lead the church

HBO released the full version The Righteous Gems Trailer for the third season of the upcoming return of the religious comedy. The return of Danny McBride’s hit series is set to premiere June 18 with the first two episodes on HBO and Max.

The video shows the Gemstones siblings struggling to carry the burden of the crown after their father quit the mega church. The trio plan to earn people’s trust and prove they are the right people to lead the church. To do this, they must first grow up and overcome their differences.

What is Season 3 of The Righteous Gemstones about?

The Righteous Gemstones is directed by Danny McBride, who also serves as the series creator, writer and director. He is joined by John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, Adam DeVine as Kelvin Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Walton Goggins as Billy Freeman and Greg Alan Williams as Martin Imari, Tim Baltz as BJ Barnes and more.

“It tells the story of a world-renowned television evangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charity work,” reads the Season 3 synopsis. “When the spoiled Gemstone children finally fulfill their desire to take control of the Church, they discover that leadership is more difficult than they imagined and that their extravagant lifestyle comes at a high price.
