After a two-year hiatus The morning show returns this fall. On Thursday, Apple announced that the third season of The Morning Show will premiere on September 13 with two episodes. New episodes will be released weekly thereafter AppleTV+ Wednesdays.
The Morning Show released first preview photos for the third season on the show’s official website Twitterstarring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston and the ensemble cast.
What can you expect from Season 3 of The Morning Show?
“This season, the future of the network is in question and loyalty is pinpointed when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA,” reads the official logline. “Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized, and everyone is forced to confront their core values both inside and outside the newsroom.”
Witherspoon and Aniston reprise their roles as UBA news anchors Bradley Jackson and Alex Levy. Recurring cast members include Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison, Mark Duplass as Chip Black, Karen Pittman as Mia Jordan, Greta Lee as Stella Bak, Néstor Carbonell as Yanko Flores, and Julianna Margulies as Laura Peterson.
New cast members include Jon Hamm as Paul Marks, a tech titan with an interest in UBA; Nicole Beharie as Christine Hunter, the new presenter at UBA; Natalie Morales as Christine Hunter, Stella’s best friend from college; Stephen Fry as Leonard Cromwell, a ruthless UBA board member; and Tig Notaro as Amanda Robinson, Marks’ chief of staff.
Created by Jay Carson, The Morning Show is inspired by Brian Stelter’s 2013 book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. Kerry Ehrin developed The Morning Show and was the showrunner for the first two seasons. Charlotte Stoudt will serve as season 3 showrunner, with Ehrin serving as an advisor. Season 3 is directed and executive produced by Mimi Leder.
Executive producers include Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter from Hello Sunshine, Michael Ellenberg from Media Res, and Aniston and Kristin Hahn from Echo Films. Media Res is the studio that produces The Morning Show. The Morning Show has already been renewed for its fourth season.
