LEGO fans will need a bigger boat, the LEGO Ideas team has revealed Jaws LEGO set will set sail soon.
What will be included in the Jaws LEGO set?
The message comes as The LEGO Ideas team has released their latest test round video. For those who don’t know, LEGO Ideas is a way for fans to create their own LEGO ideas. If they become popular enough, the ideas have a chance to be turned into a real LEGO set.
In the video, the team revealed that only two of the 36 creations discussed this time would be converted into sets; The Jaws set is one of them. Although the final set isn’t ready yet, photos of the prototype promise that some iconic things will make their way into the set.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a LEGO Jaws set without a real shark built just as big as the LEGO Orca – the fishing boat featured in the film. Three minifigures also appear to be included: Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and Quint (Robert Shaw).
No release or pricing information is available for the set at this time. As LEGO has yet to finish construction, a few things are subject to change as well. However, it’s likely that the two biggest aspects of the set – the orca boat and the shark itself – will remain.
Originally released in 1975, Jaws was based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. The film was directed by Steven Spielberg and is widely regarded as the original summer blockbuster.
