The Idol season finale trailer previews Episode 5 of the HBO series

HBO released a new one Trailer for the season finale of The Idol for the fifth episode of the controversial drama series. The video shows Destiny and Chaim reacting to the strange situation of Jocelyn being at the center of the pursuit of Tedros’ takeover of the home and manipulating its residents.

“After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) recent tour, she is determined to reclaim her rightful status as America’s biggest and sexiest pop star,” reads the official synopsis. “Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or to the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?

Who stars in “The Idol”?

The Idol stars Lily-Rose Depp as Jocelyn, a rising pop star looking to regain the fame he lost when his previous tour was canceled. During her comeback, Jocelyn meets Tedros (Tesfaye), a mysterious figure who quickly invades her life romantically and creatively.

The Idol was co-created by Abel Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Euphoria’s Sam Levinson. The ensemble cast includes Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jane Adams, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Moses Sumney, Jennie Ruby Jane, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Ramsey, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Hank Azaria.

After a glittering premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, The Idol received many negative reviews, with most critics rating the series negatively. The sexual content and general themes of The Idol were driving factors for criticism.

Tesfaye, Fahim and Levinson are executive producers alongside Joe Epstein, Ashley Levinson, Nick Hall, Kevin Turen, Aaron Gilbert and Sara E. White. “The Idol” is an A24 production.
