Tobias Menzies has joined the cast of the upcoming movie Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 film.

The British actor, best known for his roles in ‘The Crown’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, will star in the new Apple Original Untitled Movie. Pitt plays a former Formula 1 driver who comes out of retirement to compete alongside a rookie driver. Menzies’ role is currently unknown. Production on the film will begin at various Grand Prix this summer.

The film comes from the filmmaking team behind last year’s Top Gun: Maverick. Joseph Kosinski will direct and produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure). Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger (Dumbo, Ghost in the Shell) will write the screenplay.

Kerry Condon stars in the film alongside Brad Pitt and Tobias Menzies. Condon recently received an Oscar nomination for her role in The Banshees of Inisherin this year. Condon will portray the team’s technical director and oversee the design and development of a sophisticated race car.

Apple Studios is also working with Pitt and Plan B Entertainment on another feature film that will reunite him with Ocean’s 11 co-star George Clooney. The project will be directed by Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts.

The Formula 1 film will be released in theaters and run exclusively in cinemas worldwide for at least 30 days before being released on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
