The upcoming superhero movie The Flash brings back some familiar faces from the DC Extended Universe. Michael Shannon will return as Zod – one of Superman’s nemesis. He is joined by his deputy Faora-Ul (Antje Traue), who also appeared in the 2013 film.
“I talked to Zack,” confirms Muschietti in an interview with GamesRadar+. “But it wasn’t technical or narrative or anything. I just wanted to reach out and say “Hey.” Because we’ve never met before and I just wanted to tell him that we would be respectful of the things he’s done before.”
Explaining Man of Steel’s influence on The Flash, he said, “Man of Steel is obviously fundamental to this film because the great threat of Zod coming to earth is a big twist in this story and something that most DC fans like.” knows it very well. And that’s one of the great things that can shape the narrative of this film.”
