The bonus episode “Yellowjackets” will be released before Season 3

Yellow jackets Co-creator Ashley Lyle has confirmed that a bonus episode will be released ahead of the return of season three of the acclaimed thriller-drama on Showtime.

The news comes almost a week after the second season of Yellowjackets wrapped up its nine-episode season with a heartbreaking season finale that saw one of its main characters die unexpectedly. Pre-production on Season 3 of Yellowjackets has been temporarily halted due to the ongoing WGA strike, which would likely delay the next installment’s premiere date.

What is Yellowjackets about?

Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror and coming-of-age drama, it tells the saga of a team of extremely talented high school girls who become (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the far north “wilderness,” reads the series synopsis. “The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but successful team to savage clans while also tracing the lives they tried to put back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past never truly passed and that what happened in the Wilderness began, is already gone.” far from over.”

Yellowjackets stars Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Steven Krueger and Warren Kole. Season 2 also introduced Emmy-nominated actress Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Servant) as the adult Van Palmer, Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as the adult Lottie, and Elijah Wood as the citizen detective Walter.

Yellowjackets is created and produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Executive producers are Drew Comins, Karyn Kusama and Jonathan Lisco, who also serves as showrunner. It is produced by Entertainment One.
