Olsen gained worldwide recognition for her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in a Miniseries for her performance in Disney+’s WandaVision series. She recently received critical acclaim for her starring role in Max’s true crime limited drama Love & Death, in which she played ax murderer Candy Montgomery.
As for Vikander, The Danish Girl actress’s most recent project was the HBO miniseries Irma Vep, an adaptation of the 1996 French film of the same name directed by Olivier Assayas. Before starring in The Assessment, she will will next appear in the historical drama Firebrand, in which she will play the sixth and last wife of King Henry VIII, Catherine Parr.
What can you expect from the assessment?
The Assessment is directed by French filmmaker Fleur Fortuné, his directorial debut. The screenplay was written by Nell Garfath-Cox, Dave Thomas and John Donnelly. The project is funded by the Filmstiftung NRW of the state of Cologne with one million euros. The film is a production of Number 9 Films and film production.
“Set in a world devastated by climate change,” reads the synopsis. “Part of society has created a parallel world. Life is controlled and optimized, and the desire to have children is not left to chance. That is why the life of a successful young couple is scrutinized by an expert for seven days.”
