More details on Terrifier 3’s upcoming release date have been revealed in a new report from meeting. Several members of the original films are expected to return.

What do we know about Terrifier 3?

Writer-director Damien Leone – who has hinted a third film is in the works – and producer Phil Falcone will return to oversee the third film, according to Deadline. David Howard Thornton (Art The Clown) and Lauren LaVera (who played Sienna in Terrifier 2) are also expected to return.

The new report comes as France-based distribution company The Coven begins selling the film worldwide. Deadline indicates that filming will take place in either November or December this year, with a tentative release window of 2024.

Perhaps most importantly, however, is the note that Terrifier 3’s budget will be significantly increased; The report suggests “in the low to mid seven-figure range.” This would be a big step forward for the franchise, which operates on significantly less revenue; “Terrifier” cost $35,000, while “Terrifier 2” still cost a modest $250,000.

Terrifier 2 was written, directed, and edited by Damien Leone. It stars Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, David Howard Thornton, Casey Hartnett, Amelie McLain, Chris Jericho and more.

“After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County, where he preyed on a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night,” reads the synopsis.

The sequel is being produced by Leone, Michael Leavy, Jason Leavy, Phil Falcone, Lisa Marie Falcone and Steve Della Salla. Before hitting theaters, it had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest and Fright Fest. In addition to critical acclaim, the film grossed over $12 million at the worldwide box office on a budget of $250,000.
