Ted Lasso spin-off series teased by Nick Mohammed

It’s only been a few weeks since Ted Lasso’s series finale. However, star Nick Mohammed has already hinted at potential Spin off by Ted Lasso.

What did Nick Mohammed tease on Twitter?

Earlier this week, the official Apple TV Twitter account tweeted a picture of Ted Lasso characters Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Nathan “Nate” Shelley (Mohammed) in the dressing room at AFC Richmond stand. The caption read “Smells of potential,” which fans took to be some sort of hint at future shows.

Mohammed joined in the fun, quoting the tweet with a puckered-lip emoji. For those who don’t know, the end of Ted Lasso results in the title manager leaving England and returning to America. However, manager Beard remains in England and Roy Kent is appointed as the new manager of AFC Richmond.

Although fans would love to see a Ted Lasso spin-off series, Mohammed himself only said earlier this month that he shyed away from it. Speaking to GamesRadar+, Mohammed said that in order for him to return, the story has to be good enough and other people willing to come back.

“To be honest, I’m wary of a spin-off,” Mohammed said. “Don’t get me wrong, if everyone else was willing and doing it and the story felt intriguing and interesting then obviously I would be open to it. But with Nate in particular, we told a real story, so you don’t necessarily want to do something inferior.”
