Taylor Sheridan discusses the Yellowstone follow-up led by Matthew McConaughey

Taylor Sheridan has provided an update on the film allegedly directed by Matthew McConaughey Yellowstone spin off. The creator revealed that the team behind the show have had discussions with the actor.

Sheridan spoke to McConaughey about the show

Speak with The Hollywood Reporter In a recent in-depth interview, Sheridan confirmed the rumored spin-off series is reportedly “a new chapter” in the ongoing franchise. Sheridan called the actor “a natural fit” and said he responded well to “Yellowstone” when he saw it.

“It seems like a natural fit,” Sheridan said. “We’ve had a few conversations over the years and thrown out a few ideas. Then he started watching Yellowstone and reacting to it. He said, “That’s what I want to do.” And by that he meant immersion in a raw world that collides with the modern world. And then I said, “Buddy, we can do this.”

earlier this year, THR confirmed McConaughey was in talks to direct one Yellowstone spin off. This followed reports that the main series could end sooner than expected due to disagreements over series star Kevin Costner’s filming schedule (via meeting).

Costner reportedly only wanted to spend a week with the second half Yellowstone Season 5 after aiming to shoot the first half of the season for 50 days – again a reduction from his previous limit of 65 days of shooting.

Currently, there is little information about the possible spin-off, led by Matthew McConaughey.
