Where can I get tickets for Princess Mononoke’s return to the cinema?

The film, which will be shown in both the original Japanese and the English dubbed version, will also contain selected, exclusive scenes from the documentary series 10 Years with Hayao Miyazaki.

Tickets for the film as well as the rest of the Studio Ghibli Fest 2023 program can be purchased either online Studio Ghibli Fest websiteor at Fathom Events website. Participating box offices should also have tickets to visit a local theatre.

Princess Mononoke performances will take place on the following dates:

  • Sunday, August 6 at 4:00 p.m. (English dubbed) and 7:00 p.m. (English dubbed)
  • Monday, August 7, 7:00 p.m. (English dubbed)
  • Tuesday, August 8, 7:00 p.m. (Japanese with subtitles)
  • Wednesday, August 9, 7:00 p.m. (English dubbed)

Following the Princess Mononoke screenings, Ghibli Fest 2023 will continue with screenings of Porco Rosso, The Wind Rises, How’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away, all of which will hit theaters over the coming months.

“In the 14th century, the harmony enjoyed by humans, animals, and gods begins to crumble,” reads Princess Mononoke’s official synopsis. “The protagonist, young Ashitaka infected by an animal attack, seeks a cure from the deer-like god Shishigami. In his travels, he sees humans ravaging the earth and incurring the wrath of the wolf god Moro and his human mate, Princess Mononoke.”
