Steamboat Silly Trailer features Mickey Mouse against 100 from Steamboat Willie

The video shows Mickey Mouse meeting the legendary Steamboat Willie. This is the popular Disney character from the 1928 short film that served as the prototype for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The episode will stream on July 28th.

“Steamboat Silly follows Mickey Mouse and his friends as they must stop hundreds of old film reel versions of Mickey from wreaking havoc across the city,” reads the log line.

What is the wonderful world of Mickey Mouse?

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse explores the loveable, adventurous and comedic escapades of Mickey Mouse, Disney’s #1 Star. It’s aimed at kids, families and fans of all ages. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation. It is executive produced by Paul Rudish and Philip M. Cohen. Eddie Trigueros is directing Steamboat Silly.

In addition to Steamboat Silly, Disney Animation Studios will release another short film entitled Once Upon a Studio to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The short film will debut alongside the upcoming animated fantasy film Wish. The nine-minute short is expected to combine live action with animation, bringing together over 400 of Disney’s most popular cartoon characters. These include Mickey Mouse and friends, the Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, Genie, Olaf and more.
