Marvel’s latest animated superhero film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has been a smash hit at the box office. The film ends on a cliffhanger, with a title card in the credits revealing that Miles Morales will be returning in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Authors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller spoke to them entertainment tonight about turning the Spider-Verse movies into a trilogy. “We knew there was still more to tell and a lot to discover, but it wasn’t until we were working on Across the Spider-Verse that we realized that this was the middle part of a trilogy,” Miller said.
Miller also confirmed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be the final film in the trilogy. “It’s the end of the Miles Morales trilogy, and the whole thing contributes to that,” Miller said. “That’s it for us; we are so tired.”
When is the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse release date?
The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 29, 2024.
However, many are speculating that the film’s theatrical release, which is only nine months away, will be delayed. In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterHailee Steinfeld announced that she had yet to begin recording dialogue for Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman.
While a delay is possible, Spider-Man fans will surely be there to see how Miles Morales’ story ends in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
