Netflix has finally announced the release date for the upcoming premiere of Sonic Prime Season 2.

The series is set to return with new episodes on July 13, 2023. The release date of Sonic Prime Season 2 comes five months after the 8-episode first season of SEGA’s animated TV adaptation Sonic the Hedgehog made its debut.
“The action-packed adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog are in full swing when an encounter with Dr. Eggman leads to a literally universe-shattering event,” the log line reads. “Desperate to reassemble his original reality and save his old friends, Sonic races through the Shatterverse, discovering strange worlds and making new friends for the epic adventure of a lifetime!”
Sonic Prime features the voices of Deven Mack, Ashleigh Ball, Shannon Chan-Kent, Brian Drummond, Vincent Tong, Ian Hanlin, Kazumi Evans and Adam Nurada. Executive Producer is Man of Action Entertainment, the creative team behind Ben 10 and Big Hero 6.
The series is animated at WildBrain. Additional executive producers are Erik Wiese, Josh Scherba, Anne Loi, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Haruki Satomi Yukio Sugino, Shuji Utsumi and Toru Nakahara.
Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared on the SEGA Genesis in 1991. Since then, the character has been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York in 2016. The video game was also adapted into two live-action films starring Ben Schwartz and James Marsden. The film franchise currently has a combined worldwide gross of over $700 million. The third installment is currently in development, along with a Knuckles spin-off series for Paramount+.
