What is Secret Invasion about?
“Set in today’s MCU, Fury learns of a covert invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls,” reads the series log line. “Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who have made a life for themselves on Earth. Together, they race against time to thwart an impending Skrull invasion and save humanity.”
Secret Invasion is led by MCU star Samuel L. Jackson, who reprises his role as Nick Fury. He will team up with Captain Marvel’s Ben Mendelsohn, who returns as the Skrulls’ pseudo-leader, Talos. They are joined by MCU newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir as antagonist Gravik, Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman as MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth, Emilia Clarke as Talos’ now-adult daughter G’iah, Dermot Mulrone, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald and Carmen eyogo. Also starring MCU veterans Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross and Don Cheadle as Rhodey.
Secret Invasion is based on the comic book series created by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales and Laura Martin and is executive produced by Kyle Bradstreet. “Let Him Go” director Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim are slated to direct.
