Season 3 of The White Lotus explores spirituality versus ego

HBO Head of Drama Francesca Orsi has opened up about the success of Mike White’s HBO comedy series The White Lotus. In conversation with meetingOrsi also teased what viewers should expect in The White Lotus season 3, which she described as more of “an exploration of spirituality versus ego” and “opposed to Eastern religion.”

“We never thought it would be something like this phenomenon and lightning in a bottle, although it has also delivered exponentially in Season 2 from a success standpoint and we have high hopes for Season 3,” Orsi said. “We were excited for Season 1. Then Mike’s pitch for Season 2 got us all excited, and I have to say that on Season 3, when we sat down with him for lunch, we felt even more excited than we did before.” We were very fortunate to be in business with Mike White; He really is a genius.”

The third season of The White Lotus is set in Asia

“The White Lotus” was created, written and directed by Mike White (Enlightened). The executive producers are White, David Bernard, Mark Kamine and Nick Hall. The highly anticipated third season is reportedly set to take place in Thailand, after seasons 1 and 2 were filmed in Hawaii and Italy, respectively. In Season 3, Season 1 cast member Natasha Rothwell is expected to return and reprise her role as Belinda Lindsay.

Murray Abraham as Bert Di Grasso, Haley Lu Richardson as Portia , Theo James as Cameron and Meghann Fahy as Daphne and Will Sharpe as Ethan. The latest installment won two Golden Globes from four nominations for Best Limited Series and Best Supporting Actress for Coolidge’s return as Tanya.
