School spirits season 2 comes, how The Hollywood Reporter reports that Paramount+ has ordered a second season of the YA mystery series.
What do we know about School Spirits Season 2?
The move comes just months after the series premiered on the streamer and just two months after its conclusion. According to the report, production on Season 2 of School Spirits will begin in 2024, with creators Megan Trinrud and Nate Trinrud and showrunner Oliver Goldstick returning for the new season.
“We’ve seen how engaged fans have been with the show, and we’re excited not only for the show’s creative direction (in season one), but also for the promise of creative direction we’re familiar with in season two. “Shauna Phelan, executive vice president and co-head of live-action series and films Nickelodeon and Awesomeness, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “The audience’s positive and passionate response to the show made it easy for us to make the decision. We are very excited for the opportunity to do a second season.”
The series, which originally premiered on the streamer earlier this year, stars Peyton List and tells the story of its character Maddie Nears, a student who dies at her school and is unable to leave her. Instead, her ghost must try to figure out who her killer is. The first season ran for eight episodes and was well received by both critics and audiences.
The series is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate and Megan Trinrud. It stars Peyton List, Kristian Flores, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, Rainbow Wedell, Milo Manheim, Josh Zuckerman and Maria Dizzia.
