According to a recent report by Ryan Seacrest is said to be in talks to replace Pat Sajak as host of legendary game show Wheel of Fortune TMZ And Bloomberg.
Pat Sajak retires after Season 41 of Wheel of Fortune
The TMZ report notes that Seacrest is “an option” to replace Sajak. The personality is in initial talks with Sony about acquiring Sajak if he retires from performing. With Seacrest no longer working on Live with Kelly and Ryan, TMZ notes that he has time in his schedule to potentially take over if he gets an offer.
News of Seacrest’s possible involvement came as Pat Sajak announced he was retiring from the show. This comes following his work on the upcoming season 41 of Wheel of Fortune, which is set to begin in September.
In a tweet last weekSajak said it was “a wonderful ride” and he will have more to say soon. Sajak was originally hired to host the show in 1981 and has become a legend in the television world through his hosting duties.
As the original host of American Idol, Seacrest himself is no stranger to game shows. He also hosted the daytime talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan, on which he starred alongside Kelly Ripa for six years.
