Russell Crowe shares his thoughts on Gladiator 2

Actor Russell Crowe has shared his thoughts on the upcoming film gladiator 2.

In 2000, Crowe played the role of Maximus Decimus Meridius in the epic historical drama Gladiator. This film, directed by Ridley Scott, won Best Picture at the Oscars and earned Crowe the Best Actor award. Over two decades later, the film is getting a sequel, also directed by Scott, and starring Paul Mescal as Maximus’ son Lucius.

Crowe will not appear in the new film. When asked about it, he told meeting“I don’t know about the cast, I don’t know about the plot. Well, I wouldn’t do that, would I? ‘Cause I’m dead! But all I know is that if Ridley, whoever is involved in this film, decides to do a second part of this story 24 years later, they will have really good reasons for it. And it’s actually very typical of him that he thinks again about everything he’s done and knows how to do it better. So I would say that I can’t imagine this film being anything less than absolutely spectacular.”

When asked if he would work with Scott again, Crowe said, “We haven’t done a movie together in a while. It’s not intentional, it just happened that way. But we did – what is that? — five trains together. I’ve said this many times over the years, but for an actor like me there is no better set design for Ridley Scott. He has the intellect that allows you to work fully together. He has the true, pure spirit of an artist.”

What is the Gladiator sequel release date?
