The Audrey Hepburn Leading Lady roman vacation gets its first-ever 4K Ultra HD release from Paramount Home Entertainment in August.
Paramount Home Entertainment announced that Roman Holiday, the classic 1953 Hepburn and Gregory Peck film, is getting a special 4K Ultra HD release with a variety of special features to celebrate the film’s 70th anniversary.
“Audrey Hepburn stars in the tale of a modern day princess who rebels against her royal obligations, explores Rome and falls in love with an American journalist, played by Gregory Peck,” reads the film’s description from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Roman Holiday’s 4K Ultra HD release includes over an hour of special features, giving fans the chance to learn more about the film’s costumes, how Trumbo’s blacklist impacted the film, and more. Roman Holiday, directed by William Wyler, was co-written by Dalton Trumbo, whose name initially went uncredited on the film because he was blacklisted in 1947 for not collaborating with the House of Representatives’ Un-Amiercan Activities Committee. Trumbo received story credit for Roman Holiday in 1993 and was eventually added to the featured screenwriters in 2011.
In 1954, Roman Holiday was nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Picture (Wyler), Best Director (Wyler), Best Supporting Actor (Eddie Albert), Best Screenplay (Ian McLellan Hunter and John Dighton), “Best Art Direction” for Black and White. and White (Hal Pereira and Walter H. Tyler), Best Black and White Cinematography (Franz Planer and Henri Alekan) and Best Editing (Robert Swink). It won Oscars for Best Actress (Hepburn), Best Story (Trumbo), and Best Black and White Costume Design (Edith Head).
Roman Holiday will be released on 4K Ultra HD by Paramount Home Entertainment on August 15, 2023.
