Rick & Michonne trailer reveals The Walking Dead spin-off title

The much-anticipated the Walking Dead The Rick and Michonne spin-off series has been given a new title and a new teaser trailer ahead of its release next year.

The series is titled The Walking Dead: Those Who Liveand is slated for release sometime in 2024. The new teaser trailer for the series shows both Michonne and Rick going through a red cloud, while an voiceover from Michonne talks about how she’s been alone for some time and lost someone “years ago,” referring to Rick before she found out he was alive.

What do we know about The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live?

“This series presents an epic love story of two characters who have been transformed by a changing world,” reads the synopsis. “Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable force. By the spirits of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world based on a war against the dead… and ultimately a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation like they have never known before?”

The six-episode limited drama was written and produced by Scott Gimple, who also serves as showrunner. Gurira is also credited as a co-creator and co-writer of the six-part drama.

Based on the comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead is Executive Produced by Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert, Joseph Incaprera, Gale Anne Hurd, Denise Huth and Angela Kang.

The drama Rick and Michonne, currently slated for a 2024 debut, was set to premiere this year alongside two other spin-offs, The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Both series focus on the leading survivors of the original series. The series, directed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, is slated to premiere this June, followed by the premiere of the Norman Reedus-directed show later this year.
