The Star Wars Skywalker saga ended in 2019 with the ninth episode of the saga. The trilogy sequel began in 2015 with Star Wars: The Force Awakens starring Daisy Ridley as Rey. It was recently announced that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct a new film starring Rey.

The movie has allegedly is titled Star Wars: New Jedi Order. The synopsis reads, “Set approximately 15 years after Rey’s defeat of Palpatine and the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” The sequel explores Rey’s brave quest to restore the Jedi Order, while playing the role of a mentor to two promising… young students takes over – a girl and a boy. As her education progresses, it becomes clear that the girl possesses extraordinary abilities destined to become the future leader.”

Filming will begin in April 2024.

When is the Rey Skywalker movie coming out?

Release is currently scheduled for May 22, 2026.

The film will be written by Steven Knight (Locke, Spencer) and directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel, 3 Bahadur).
