What is Renfield about?

“Nicholas Hoult plays Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula, in this modern monster tale about Dracula’s faithful servant,” reads the synopsis. “Renfield is forced to take his master’s prey and fulfill his every wish, no matter how humbled. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to discover if there is life outside the shadow of the prince of darkness. If only he could figure out how to break codependency.”

Renfield plays Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road), Golden Globe winner Awkwafina (The Farewell), Oscar winner Nicolas Cage (Mandy), Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), Adrian Martinez (Focus). ) and Bess Rous (Ghostbusters).

The film is directed and produced by Chris McKay (“The Tomorrow War”). The story is based on an original pitch by Robert Kirkman from The Walking Dead and was written by Ryan Ridley (Rick and Morty). Producers are Skybound Entertainment’s Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst, with McKay’s partner Samantha Nisenboim serving as executive producer.
