Amazon Studios released the official one Red, White and Royal Blue Photos for the upcoming film adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s 2019 romance novel. It will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video on August 11th.
The photos show a first look at The Kissing Booth’s Taylor Zakhar Perez and Purple Hearts’ Nicholas Galitzine as the son of US President Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry of Britain. It gives a glimpse into their love story, which begins with a lifelong rivalry but gives way to friendship.
Who is the cast of Red, White and Royal Blue?
Red, White & Royal Blue will be directed and executive produced by Tony-winner Matthew Lopez from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ted Malawer. Joining Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine are Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, with Stephen Fry and Uma Thurman, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth and Juan Castano.
“Alex Claremont-Diaz, son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry have a lot in common: stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity… and an utter disdain for one another,” reads the synopsis. “Separated by an ocean, their long-standing feud was not a real issue until a disastrous – and very public – spat at a royal event became tabloid and potentially chocked US-British relations at the worst possible time. Their families and caregivers go into damage control mode, forcing the two rivals into a staged “truce”. But when Alex and Henry’s frigid relationship unexpectedly begins to turn into a tentative friendship, tensions between them spark something deeper than they ever anticipated.”
The film is executive produced by McQuiston, Michael Riley McGrath and Michael S. Constable, with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter serving as producers. Amazon Studios first acquired the rights to the novel in 2019.
