Production of Daredevil: Born Again has been suspended indefinitely

Production on the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, has been paused indefinitely.

Why was production on Daredevil: Born Again halted?

meeting reports that production of Daredevil: Born Again has been suspended three months into filming pending the end of the ongoing writers’ strike. Although production on the series has been temporarily halted several times due to the strike, it now appears to be on hiatus until the strike is resolved.

Daredevil: Born Again is described as an 18-episode revival of the original, which ran for three seasons. Lead actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio return in their respective roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Both characters debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021. Kingpin guest-starred in the Disney+ Hawkeye series and Matt Murdock made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox also guest-starred in two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, in which he showed a lighter side of the hero.

Alongside Cox and D’Onofrio, the Daredevil revival will also see the long-awaited return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. They are joined by Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James and Arty Froushan.

Daredevil: Born Again is lead writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who will also serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Feige. The series is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in spring 2024.
