The Prime video The June 12-18 schedule has some interesting additions, including Ender’s Game and Spoiler Alert for 2022.
On Monday, June 12th, the Amazon-owned streamer will add Spoiler Alert to its available content. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film is adapted from Michael Ausiello’s memoir, Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies. The story follows the 14-year relationship between entertainment journalist Michael (Jim Parsons) and his photographer partner Kit (Ben Aldridge). The cast includes Bill Irwin, Jeffery Self and Sally Field, among others. In addition to starring, Parsons produced with Jordana Mollick, Todd Spiewak and Alison Mo Massey.
Starting next Monday, Prime Video subscribers will also be able to watch Ender’s Game. Based on the popular novel by Orson Scott Card, the sci-fi film follows the clash between humanity and an alien race known as the Formics. Asa Butterfield portrays protagonist Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, with Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin also joining the cast. While curiosity about the project was high, the Gavin Hood-directed film was met with moderate reviews and failed the box office.
On the same day, the streamer will also add Blumhouse Television-produced horror film There’s Something Wrong With The Children. Directed by Roxanne Benjamin from a script by TJ Cimfel and Dave White, it stars Alisha Wainwright, Zach Gilford, Amanda Crew, Carlos Santos and more.
“When Margaret and Ben take a weekend getaway with longtime friends Ellie and Thomas and their two young children, Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is happening when the children start acting strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight,” it says in the synopsis of the film.
