On Thursday, July 20th, the popular streamer will release Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias. Based on Sherryl Woods’ book series of the same name, the show follows the lives of three best friends, Maddie Townsend (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) and Dana Sue Sullivan (Brooke Elliott) and Helen Decatur (Heather Headley), as they support each other through thick and thin. Season 10 consists of 10 episodes, all coming out at once, as is usual with Netflix. The cast includes Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland, Justin Bruening, Chris Klein, Jamie Lynn Spears, Dion Johnstone and Brandon Quinn. The upcoming season 3 will also play the leading role Fresh Prince of Belair graduate Janet Hubert as Bev Decatur, Helen’s (Heather Headley) mother.
Also on Friday, July 21, Netflix will release They Cloned Tyrone, a sci-fi comedy starring Jamie Foxx, John Boyega and Teyonah Parris. Foxx is best known for his portrayal of musician Ray Charles in 2004’s “Roy,” a performance that earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. The upcoming film will feature the directorial debut of Creed 2 author Juel Taylor. The film also stars Kiefer Sutherland, J. Alphonse Nicholson, David Alan Grier, Tamberla Perry and Eric Robinson Jr., among others.
“A series of sinister events brings an unlikely trio on the trail of a nefarious government experiment in this pulpy crime thriller,” reads the film’s brief synopsis.
