In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Portman reflected on the Luc Besson-directed film. The actress appeared in the film at the age of 12, with the role of Mathilda Lando marking the beginning of her film career.
“It’s a film that’s still popular and people approach it more than almost anything I’ve ever done and it gave me my career but if you watch it now it’s up Definitely something creepy, to say the least, aspects of it,” Portman explained. “So yeah, it’s complicated for me.”
