‘My Ex-Boyfriend’s Wedding,’ a new comedy directed by Amanda Seyfried, has been postponed due to the ongoing writers’ strike.

Amanda Seyfried stars in the new ensemble comedy alongside Ariana DeBose, Megan Stalter, Liza Koshy and Chloe Fineman. This Sony Pictures film will be directed by Kay Cannon, who previously directed Blockers and Cinderella (2021) and wrote all three Pitch Perfect films. The film was written by Ashley Rodger and Taylor Jenkins Reid.

“I mean, we have to win these strikes together, and then I can tell you something about that,” Seyfried said at the premiere of her new Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room. “But I can’t right now because it’s way too funny and we’re not filming it right now.” Expressing her anticipation of returning to a comedic role, she said, “Back to my roots, you know? I’m so excited.”

The film is about four childhood friends who receive a voice message from their former best friend the night before their wedding. Drunken, she admits she made a mistake by tying the knot. The four friends embark on an adventure to prevent the wedding and see their former boyfriend again.
