The first look at Mr and Mrs Smithstarring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine is out. The series is slated to premiere on Prime Video in November.
According to the official logline, “John and Jane Smith are entering a new phase in their marriage after agreeing to work as spies for a mysterious agency.”

What awaits you at Mr. & Mrs. Smith?
Glover and Erskine headline Mr. & Mrs. Smith as John and Jane Smith. The series is based on the 2005 film directed by Doug Liman and starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The action comedy about married assassins hired to kill each other was a huge box office hit, grossing $487 million on a budget of $110 million.
In addition to Glober and Erskine, the ensemble cast also includes Michaela Coel, Parker Posey, Wagner Moura, Paul Dano and John Turturro.
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” was co-created and produced by Glover and Francesca Sloane. Phoebe Waller-Bridge was originally slated to co-create the series and star alongside Glover. However, the Dial of Destiny actress left the project due to creative differences.
“I put my heart and mind into this show for six months, and I really cared about it — and still care about it,” Waller-Bridge told Vanity Fair of her departure from Mr. & Mrs. Smith . “And I know it’s going to be great. But sometimes it’s all about knowing when to leave the party. You don’t want to get in the way of a vision.”
