In a new featurette for the film, director Christopher McQuarrie and leading actor Tom Cruise describe the breathtaking stunt in detail. The sequence takes place on a train driven by Ethan Hunt from Cruise and Gabriel from Esai Morales.
In typical Mission: Impossible fashion, the scene is as practical as can be. The crew actually built a working train for the actors to fight in while traveling at more than 60 miles per hour. At the end of the scene, the train falls off a destroyed bridge – also practical!
