Berry is best known for his role as the vampire Laszlo Cravensworth on the popular FX series What We Do in the Shadows. This would be his first live-action film in five years, having last appeared in Disney’s Christopher Robin. Matt Berry is also currently cast in the lead role in the upcoming stop-motion animated film The Inventor, which will feature the voices of Stephen Fry and Daisy Ridley.
Who is involved in the Minecraft movie?
The Minecraft movie is directed by Napoleon Dynamite’s Jared Hess. Further details about the plot and the characters are still being kept secret. The untitled project sees a reunion between Momoa and Dune Producer Mary Parent, co-producing with Roy Lee. The late Jill Messick also receives a production credit for her work on the film before her passing in 2018. Producers are Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Torfi Frans Olafsson and Vu Bui, with Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters and Brian Mendoza and Jonathan Spaihts are executive producers.
The popular video game was released in 2011 and grew into a global phenomenon. The success led to Microsoft acquiring Mojang for $2.5 billion. A film based on the series has been in the works for several years, previously involving Shawn Levy and Rob McElhenney.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.
