“Reliable sources have told me that Wes Anderson has begun casting his next film and that the first cast member is actually a certain Michael Cera,” Sneider said of the cast for Wes Anderson’s next film. “Michael Cera will be starring in Wes Anderson’s film this time.”

What can you expect from Wes Anderson’s next film?

When asked for more information about Anderson’s next project, Sneider said, “I don’t have a title. I don’t have a logline. I don’t have anything,” Sneider said. “All I know is that Michael Cera, who he wanted to win in Asteroid City, will be in his next movie.”

Anderson will be busy with two films premiering in 2023: Asteroid City and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. Asteroid City, which celebrates its world premiere on May 23 at the Cannes Film Festival, marks the beginning. The official synopsis reads: “In 1955, students and parents from across the country gather for scientific competition, rest, relaxation, comedy and drama, and romance at a Junior Stargazer convention in a fictional American desert town.”

Anderson’s films are known for their star cast, and Asteroid City is no different. The cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Steve Carell, Maya Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie and Jeff Goldblum.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is based on Roald Dahl’s short story about a man who can predict the future and see through objects after stealing a book. Benedict Cumberbatch as Henry Sugar, alongside Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Rupert Friend, Richard Ayoade and Ben Kingsley. The film is set to be released on Netflix sometime in 2023.

After not appearing in a live-action film since 2018, Cera is now starring in three films premiering in 2023: The Adults, Dream Scenario and the highly anticipated Barbie. Cera plays Allan, Ryan Gosling’s sidekick Ken, in Barbie, out July 21.
