“For 17 years, filmmaker Jay Rosenblatt filmed his daughter Ella in the same spot on her birthday and asked her the same questions. In just 29 minutes we experience how she grows from toddler to young woman, with all the beautiful and sometimes awkward phases in between. Each phase is captured fleetingly but leaves an indelible impression. Her answers to her father’s questions only set the stage for a deeper story of parental love, acceptance and ultimately independence.”
