Accordingly diversityOscar nominee Maria Bakalova has signed on to star in the upcoming action comedy my masterpiece. The project comes from producers Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood via their Balboa Productions banner.
The Bulgarian actress gained international recognition for her acclaimed performance in the mockumentary film Borat Subsequent movie film, which earned Bakalova her first Oscar nomination. She recently made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe portraying the character of Cosmo in James Gunns Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3which is now running in cinemas worldwide.

Cassandra Brooksbank will direct My Masterpiece. It will be her feature film debut as a director after years of experience directing commercials and music videos. The film was written by Jason Hellerman. Production is reportedly set to begin in Canada next fall.
“It’s about a killer who’s desperate to dismantle an unfair system in her industry, but ends up stranded on the second floor of an office building after getting revenge on a corporate boss,” reads the synopsis. “It means she has to fight through her fellow killers and her past to ensure justice is done. If all goes well, this could be her masterpiece.”
