When is Lonely Castle in the Mirror coming out?
Lonely Castle in the Mirror is slated for release in select theaters nationwide on June 21 and 22, 2023. The film will have a handful of event screenings from GKIDS, who announced last month that they had acquired the North American distribution rights.

The film had its international premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival last year; It was the first Japanese animated film ever selected for the festival. The film was released in Japan last December.
“Shy outsider Kokoro has been avoiding school for weeks when she discovers a portal in her bedroom mirror,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “She takes action and finds herself in an enchanting castle, where she is joined by six other students. When a girl in a wolf mask explains that they’ve been invited to a game, the teens must work together to uncover the mysterious bond that binds them together. However, anyone who breaks the rules will be eaten by the wolf.”
