Lindsay Lohan knows the world of romantic comedy well

Speak with Beckon, Lohan’s work outside of Hollywood was brought up. This included her partnership with Nestig and fashion company Lavish Alice. However, Lohan also mentioned that when it comes to movies, she’d like to do more romantic comedies.

“I know this arena so well,” Lohan said. “I’ve dreamed of working with Scorsese and del Toro, but I’m not going to try to executive produce their films. I’m not going to be like, ‘Oh, I want to do a Marvel.'”

“Do I want to build my own brand? Do I want to restart a new production company? All of these things allow me to take the time to think about them,” she continued, then remarked that her new home in Dubai “gives me the space to create my own vision of what I need to do next.”

Lohan is no stranger to comedy or romance. Most recently, she starred in the romantic Christmas comedy Falling for Christmas, which will be released on Netflix in 2022. Around that time, she told Mean Girls co-star Amanda Seyfried in a discussion for interview magazine that she feels that romantic comedy is a dying genre.

“I noticed that before I did Falling for Christmas,” Lohan told Seyfried. “I was like, ‘Well, if I’m going to do a movie, it has to be a romantic comedy because there isn’t one right now.'”

Next up is another romantic comedy for Lohan. She will star alongside Ed Speleers in Irish Wish, a fantasy romantic comedy directed by Janeen Damian. That film is currently slated for release on Netflix sometime in 2024 as part of Lohan’s partnership with the streamer.
