After playing the role of Victor Creed/Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Liev Schreiber has revealed why he didn’t return to the role in the 2017 film Logan.
Why didn’t Liev Schreiber come back for Logan?
Looking back at his roles in a GQ videoSchreiber was asked why he didn’t return as Sabretooth in the final Wolverine solo film, Logan. The actor revealed that he was not asked to come back and that the character is not part of this story.
“You didn’t ask me,” Schreiber confirmed. “No, I mean, I don’t think he was part of that story, you know? He wasn’t part of this story. I wish I could have brought Victor back anytime, anywhere, but he wasn’t part of this narrative. I’m wondering if I’ve aged a bit so to speak, but probably not for Sabretooth.”
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released in 2009 and received mostly negative reviews. The film traced the origins of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine from Fox’s popular X-Men films of the early 2000s. The Marvel film established Wolverine’s antagonistic relationship with Victor Creed/Sabretooth and portrayed them as half-brothers. Although X-Men Origins: Wolverine was poorly received, it was still a very enjoyable video game.
