Accordingly The Hollywood ReporterGarner will reprise the role of Elektra, having last played the popular Marvel character in 2005’s Elektra – itself a spin-off of the 2003 film Daredevil. Earlier rumors about Deadpool 3 hinted at it Ben Affleck himself returns as Daredevilhence the addition of Garner’s Elektra may indicate other similar cameos.

Deadpool 3 will reunite lead actor Ryan Reynolds with Free Guy and The Adam Project filmmaker Shawn Levy, who has signed on to direct the long-awaited project. Also returning in the third installment are Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.

The film was written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells from an earlier draft by the Molyneux sisters (Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin). After appearing in 2017’s Logan, Hugh Jackson is finally stepping out of his superhero retirement and reprising his iconic role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. The film will also star Marvel newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. Release is scheduled for May 3, 2024.

The first two “Deadpool” films are both box office successes, having combined gross sales of over US$1.5 billion worldwide. Both were written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with the first directed by Tim Miller and Deadpool 2 by David Leitch.
