Director James Gunn has provided an update on the cast of Superman: Legacy.
Gunn will write and direct Superman: Legacy, a new superhero film that will be the prelude to the DC Universe movies. It “tells the story of Superman’s journey to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas,” according to the official synopsis. “He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
In a episode of Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum On the podcast, Gunn spoke about the status of the casting. “Having done quite a few auditions, we’re narrowing it down,” Gunn said. “We are not finished yet. By the way, there’s a lot of stories about who we’re auditioning for and all these screen tests. I’m just saying it’s not all true, that’s for sure. There are things in there that are totally wrong, but I can’t go out there and say, ‘Oh, that’s not true, and that’s not true’ without going through it all.”
What is the release date of Superman: Legacy?
The film is slated to hit theaters on July 11, 2025 at Warner Bros. Pictures.
