With that in mind, here is a list of some of them The best action movies by Jason Statham from his career.
Crank (2006)
In one of the most over-the-top movies of his career, “Crank” Statham stars as Chev Chelios, whose heart has been injected with a drug that will kill him if he doesn’t keep his adrenaline high. The film follows Chelios who must commit insane acts of violence to keep his adrenaline pumping. Imagine the 1994 film Speed, but instead of a bus, there’s Jason Statham. This is a non-stop riot, making for absurd scenes and ideas at every turn. It’s the kind of movie that stays at 100 all the time and never comes down, which is why it tops our list of Jason Statham’s best action movies.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
The buddy cop subgenre of action movies isn’t as prevalent as it was in the ’80s and ’90s. However, every once in a while we experience a flashback like Hobbs & Shaw. This Fast & Furious spin-off takes the characters played by Statham and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and teams them up to fight Brixton (Idris Elba), a genetically enhanced soldier. This is a typical mismatch of two famous action heroes sharing the screen and kicking ass together while exchanging insults and banter. It may be a far cry from Fast & Furious roots, but this is a lighthearted, ridiculous action-comedy that defies every law of physics.
The Consumables 2 (2012)
Statham appears in all three The Expendables films and will star in the fourth film later this year. However, his best performance as Lee Christmas is the second, best film overall. Though the film is best known for bringing Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis together to battle Jean-Claude Van Damme’s villain (named Vilain), the film is more than just fanservice for fans of old action movies. As part of this action ensemble, Statham has many moments to shine, such as his fight with martial artist Scott Adkins and his one-liner, “I now declare you man and knife.” No wonder he’s set to take over the show after Stallone’s departure.
The I (2018)
Although Statham is known for his pure action films, this film also contains elements of horror, sci-fi, and comedy. If you can’t make a shark movie as good as Jaws or as ridiculous as Sharknado, cast Jason Statham in the lead and make the shark a whole lot bigger. A sequel is out later this year, but before that it’s important to check out this very entertaining film about Jonas Taylor rescuing a crew from a 75-foot long prehistoric shark called the Megalodon.
Spy (2015)
This might not be what you would expect as Statham isn’t the star of the show here. However, he’s the scene thief in this action comedy directed by Melissa McCarthy, in which he plays Rick Ford, a badass spy who sometimes feels like a parody of his other roles. This is easily the funniest role he’s ever played in a movie, as he plays a character who takes his job so seriously it’s funny. There’s a scene where Ford lists every crass feat he’s accomplished, and each statement he says becomes more absurd than the one before it. Though McCarthy is the lead, Statham makes every scene he stars in a whole lot better in this wonderfully hilarious film that completes our list of the best Jason Statham action movies.
